God Poem

Beauty God Placed In This World

My inspiration for this poem is God. I see all the beauty He has created around us. It's so overwhelming not to think about everything he has made.

God, The Great Creator

Published: July 2017

A crisp, cool autumn evening,
Stars fill the night up high.
God, the great creator,
Decking out the sky.

A garden lit by the moonlight,
A rose kissed by His hand.
The beauty He created,
Even the smallest pieces of sand.

Petals of the roses
Glisten in the night.
The Master of creation,
His colors are pure delight.

From void He created beauty,
From dark He created light.
The Master of creation,
And to man He gave them life.

ABOUT THE POET:

I live in West Virginia with my husband. History and genealogy are two subjects that I enjoy reading about. In the early 2000s, I began writing poetry and was urged by my church's pastor to create a poem to recite on Sunday nights. In high school, I became interested in poetry. When I read Elizabeth Barrett Browning's poem "How Do I Love Thee?" This poem had a significant impact on me. and it is one of my favorite poems. I also have a special love for classic poets and poetry When a tiny child reads aloud one of my poems, it is a true blessing.
