The Pain Of Her Walking Away

This poem is about my girlfriend who told me she no longer had time for me because she was too busy. She was my first girlfriend. Things were going really well and then, out of the blue, she broke up with me. This poem is about how I felt after that and how I wish the good times didn't have to end. I used to write love poems to her while we were dating and then I started writing breakup poems after we broke up. This is the first one I wrote after she left.

I wish we didn't have to say goodbye
I wish I could understand why

I wish we had more time
I wish you were still mine

I wish I could still hold you
I wish I wasn't so blue

I wish I could stop being sad
I wish it didn't hurt so bad

I wish I could stop the tears
I wish the pain just disappears

I wish the best things never had to end
I wish a broken heart could mend

But these wishes are all in vain
Because your love I'll never regain
