You Are My Heart And Soul

Thank you...
For standing by me through thick and thin,
For not giving up on me when I didn't win,
For your patience when I kept pushing you away,
For caring when I said I didn't need you anyway.

I am grateful knowing...
I can count on your strength,
Ask for your support and know you'll go to any length.
When I lose my way,
You help me get back on track.
When in pain,
Your comfort soothes and brings me back.

I am lucky because...
When I was sad, you gave me faith and hope.
When I was confused, you taught me how to cope.
When I felt I couldn't go on,
You carried me long miles.
When I didn't believe,
You restored my smiles.

Mom, thank you...
For your guidance and the faith you've shown,
For giving me a safe place where I have grown,
For showing me how to strive.
Because of your love,
I will survive.

The beauty of this poem lies in its simplicity.

Once I went to my parents' house while they were away. I had the keys and I wanted to spend some solitary time. But as soon as I opened the door, the absence of my mother's smile hit me. I opened the almirah, looked at her clothes and then thought what will happen when one day she will be no more. I won't be able to live without her.
And I knew how much I really loved her and needed her by my side. A mother's love is unconditional and irreplaceable.

This poem is a well-deserved tribute to all mothers of the world. I am 72. I lost my mother in 1999. One has to go. She lived her life well. I do not have any regrets. This poem reminded me of her existence. What a great impact she had on my life that I feel proud of her. She was an ordinary woman but a great mother. Mothers are mothers. Nothing less, nothing more, yet unforgettable. -Subhash Bansal

This poem is simple to understand, but in its simplicity you find beautiful truths about what a mother is and what they do. This is simply beautiful, I couldn't hold back my tears. Great poem.

This poem made me cry. In my 13 years I have never treated my mom as well as she was treating me. I realized that after I read this poem. I wasn't brave enough to read aloud the poem in front of my mom. I'm still thinking how to tell her, but still I'm upset when I think of all that she does.

This poem was beautiful because I somehow always be so bad and say stuff in my mind like I don't like my mother she so bossy...but when I read this poem to her she was crying, she said she said she loved me with all her heart and if anything ever happened to me or my sisters, she said she would sacrifice herself for us. For this day I never say anything horrible or bad to my mom, she is always there when I needed her, from new born baby to big girl she has been always there for me. So listen to your mother don't make them feel bad because who you're making sadder is yourself and if you think your mom hates you she doesn't she is just mad at you because you don't listen and if you don't listen you can get kidnapped that's why parent always look out for you...THANK you

This poem made me realize how special our parents are , how committed they are to us. I always pushed my mother away thinking that I know better about life but when difficulties come along I always shout out for help to the same person I wanted nothing to do with her. I realized that no one will ever love you like your mother do nor take care of you. I really love my mother and I am glad to have her in my life.

I wasn't gifted with a loving biological mom, and I didn't have any luck with my adopted one either. It wasn't until my 21st year that 2 loving mothers found me and decided to start repairing the damage. They taught me that even at 21 it's okay to learn how to love. This poem represents what they mean to me and how much they do for me everyday. Thank you for writing it.

I love this poem and I love my mum I am aged 14 and since I was 5 till 8 I watched my mum get abused and I did as well. My mum is my guardian angel and I would be nowhere without her. She has been through a lot but she still stands strong. I try my best to help her with anything but sometimes it gets a bit much for me. My family are all a bit sensitive because of the life we have had before that and reading this poems on here get me thinking how thankful I am to my mum and how hard she actually has tried:) xxxx

Oh, dear child, for writing such a beautiful response to your mom. She will love this and know how much you love and appreciate her. I agree she is strong!!
I went through something similar where 2 people I thought cared for me but really didn't. They were mean and abusive too! I am doing well but it takes a strong person to get away from an abusive situation!!

This reminds me a lot of the love I share with my mum, we can have a lot of arguments and fights mainly struggles through life but in the end we always have our love as strong as ever. I may go through phases where I just want to run away and I say "I hate you, I never want to see you again" but those words mean nothing to her because she knows that I don't mean it, and that I love her with all my heart. My mum is a superhero she never gives up on me, and when I need her the most she makes me feel strong!!!
