True Friend Poem

Pricelessness Of A True Friend

A true friend is a rare gem, and I'm blessed with one - the inspiration for this poem. If you also have that special friend, I hope this helps you celebrate him/her. You may hum the good old "My Mother" tune as you read. Hope you enjoy it.

My True Friend

You always answer when I call
And help me up if I should fall,
But you never complain at all,
My true friend.

You confront me when I am wrong
But will never scold me for long,
Instead, you try to keep me strong,
My true friend.

You know the funny things to say
To make me laugh my fears away.
Like the sun, you brighten my day,
My true friend.

You see in me gifts I deny
And urge me to give things a try.
You spread for me my wings to fly,
My true friend.

You always perceive what I need
And offer it before I plead.
Just like a book, my mind you read,
My true friend.

You value little things I do
But won't brag of what you do too.
How can I ever repay you,
My true friend?

And greatest of all I have found
When times are tough and I'm down,
You are the one who sticks around,
My true friend.

This is just like me and my best friend, Nova. We have been best friends for a long time. We understand each other. I don't know what I would do without her in my life.

I absolutely love this poem and truly hope you shared it with the friend you wrote it to. Although my experience with this sort of thing has not been very lucky (maybe it's because my poem needed work) but the whole time I was reading this I was thinking how this would be the absolute best present ever. I truly mean it, it said everything I strive to hear one day. I AM VERY sappy- I love heartfelt truth. Best of luck :) this is worth way more than any amount of money or favors you could do. If you spent the time thinking about why you think she is great, I think that’s the most amazing and personal keepsake one can receive!

I have a best friend who has been with me for about 3 years now. She means everything to me. She would always try to make me feel better about myself. She is the loveliest person I know. She's always been there to fight with me about who's better (haha). I relate to this so much because she's been with me through my anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts. She's one of the reasons I haven't cut or committed suicide. She means so much to me.

Made me realize that I try to be that "true friend" you described to none other than a bunch of "hypocrites" whom I had considered "true friends" all this time....

Nowadays, a true, selfless friend is a rare commodity. You are indeed lucky to get one. From the poem, I can clearly see that the feeling is mutual. May God bless both of you. A pleasant poem. I liked it very much. I give 5 stars.

This is a very good poem. A friend who makes impossibilities appear possible is a true friend. A friend who makes one discover their worth in life is a true friend...and this is exactly what the poem tackles. The refrain... My true friend after each stanza emphasizes the person's inner feelings for his/her friend.

This is a lovely poem. The poet must have taken great pains to make sure it flowed.
