I could hardly speak, I could barely breathe
My heart was yours, yours to leave
Love is stronger than steel, stronger than lust
So why, oh why, did I break your trust?

A sideways glance, a meeting of eyes
A frightful mistake to slice our ties
Wasted confetti, a day wasted too
I regret what I did, I do, I do.

Now here we are, all tears have been cried
This should never have happened to a beautiful bride
I cannot change the past, not alter it too
Let's start again; I do, do you?
