Deep in this dark, cold, last night of December,
is one tiny flame of a flickering ember.

like so many memories of Decembers gone by,

Deep in this dark, cold, last night of December,
is one tiny flame of a flickering ember.

like so many memories of Decembers gone by,
tucked in our hearts, memories safely reside,

reminiscing our blessings through all the past years,
of those we have loved, our regrets, and our tears.

As December surrenders to January's dawn,
that one tiny ember still flickers on,

sparking the flame to new memories born
on the horizon of this New Year's morn!

Sultry sun on fields and bay,
quiet calm engulfs the day.

Faint troubled rumblings in the sky

Sultry sun on fields and bay,
quiet calm engulfs the day.

Faint troubled rumblings in the sky
foretells a mighty storm is nigh.

Feathered fowl that glide the breeze
quickly fly to nest in trees.

A silent sense of darkness fell,
as clouds began to twirl and swell.

A yellow haze of green and gray
replaces sun and heat of day.

Thunderous cannons roar the sky
with veins of light that pierce the eye.

The day has darkened into night
as Thor and Zeus pursue their might!

Raging winds that bend and sway,
tearing limbs along the way.

Bursting clouds of icy hail;
Nature's sting is quite surreal!

The faded rumblings start to slow,
and sultry sun peaks out to glow,

Mighty Tempest, come and gone.
Ancient storm gods carry on,
leaving rainbows in the dawn!

Love to the fullest once roamed our earth.
He arrived here by means of a heavenly birth.

From the very beginning most everyone knew

Love to the fullest once roamed our earth.
He arrived here by means of a heavenly birth.

From the very beginning most everyone knew
there was something so special this child would do.

As time would prevail He became a man,
teaching us love from God's own hand.

Though to some He knew He would be such a dread.
They never could rest until He was dead!

He knew His own fate from beginning to end.
He knew and still loved His betraying friend.

He carried His cross using His own two feet
to die for our sins and our total defeat.

Why did He do it? No reason but love!
He wanted to help us to heaven above.

Who was this man with such merciful love?
None other than Jesus, our Savior above!

Summer's splendor by the sea,
a gentle, blue serenity.

Caressing rays of golden sun,

Summer's splendor by the sea,
a gentle, blue serenity.

Caressing rays of golden sun,
blushing, bronzing all who come.

Enticed by its romantic lure,
lovers stroll the sandy shore.

Hushing rhythm of the waves
and salty, misty ocean sprays.

Sea birds echo call of cries,
pierce the deep blue azure skies.

Dolphins dancing on their way
across the sea out to the bay.

A glistening, shiny, sun-soaked day.
All young and old alike at play,

building castles by the sea,
jumping waves and spirits free.

No place on earth as perfect to be
as summer's splendor by the sea!

Winter's sleep so close to death,
piercing with his arctic breath.

Brittle, naked limbs stretch high

in the icy pewter sky.

Bitter chill and stinging wind,
quiet earth grows gray and grim.

Polar pillows full of snow
hover over valleys low.

Veils of frozen crystal falls,
cascade over mountain walls.

Squalls and drifts of sparkling white,
glistening brilliance in the night.

Winter, with his wicked wrath,
leaves blinding beauty in his path!

welcomes skaters' scarring slice.
Hills adorned in lacy white
watch children sleigh into the night.

In the brilliant pristine light,
snow birds in tall trees take flight.
Evergreens draped in capes of snow,
their heavy branches hanging low,
blanket earth as north winds blow.

an ice-kissed, dazzling, magical place,

There are so many troubles in this modern time,
so add in a smile; it won't cost a dime.
Cranky people are easy to find,
but it feels so much better being kind.
Frowning people are everywhere,
but a smiling face is a gift to share!
You just might need that smile someday
when things in your life feel sad and gray.
If there's one thing we all need once in a while,
that is the sight of a beautiful smile!

Questions On Life And Death

Life is full of joy and sorrow,
past, present, and tomorrow.

Knowing life as I do now,

Life is full of joy and sorrow,
past, present, and tomorrow.

Knowing life as I do now,
I still have questions of why and how.

I can't remember my very first cry;
will I have any memories after I die?

I'd like to believe we're all here for good reason,
and life upon earth is but for a season,

with hopes we long continue on
in a much better place after we've gone,

pondering how very sad it would be
if after I die there was nothing of me.

Even so much sadder than this
are those loved ones I love and a very last kiss!

I can't imagine how love ever dies
the last time that we close our eyes.

There's something deep inside my being
that promises much more than just our seeing!

To me there's only one conclusion.
Heaven is real; it's not a delusion.

Love must be the everlasting key
that transcends our souls to eternity.

Since our time on earth has been season to season,
why wouldn't God continue His reason?

This heavenly place must truly exist,
filled with souls we've deeply missed,

No more pain, tears, or sorrows.
Only loved-filled, joyful eternal tomorrows!
