I never asked you to be my Dad,
To slap me around and treat me so bad.
I never asked you to drink alcohol,
I never asked for anything at all.

I never asked you to be my Dad,

I never asked for the hurt and pain,
Or for the nights that were half insane.
I never asked for fights that were wild,
Or to grow up a bewildered child.

I never asked you to beat up my Mom,
Or for a blanket to help keep me warm.
I never asked you to leave me alone,
Or to grow up in a broken down home.

I never asked for this horrible life,
Or for the conflicts, the quarrels, and strife.
I never once asked that I be defiled,
Or to grow up a bewildered child.

I never asked to be raised in prison,
Or to see darkness though the sun had risen.
I never asked you to raise holy hell,
Or for my bedroom to be like a jail cell.

I never asked to be used and abused,
Or to sit in my room dazed and confused.
I never asked for the crap that has piled,
Or to grow up a bewildered child.

I never asked for a brand new bike,
Or for any toys that I used to like.
I never asked you to throw me a ball,
Or for the bruises when I took a "fall."

I never asked once, but I'm asking you now.
I hope you make me understand somehow.
How you could treat me so freaking bad,
That I never asked you to be my Dad.

You brought me my first toy,
My first bike and baseball glove.
You filled my heart with joy,
And you filled my life with love.

You brought me my first toy,

You filled my heart with joy,
And you filled my life with love.
You taught me how to count
And how to say my ABC's,
How to say, "You're Welcome,"
"Thank You," and "Pretty Please."

You taught me "Our Father,"
And "Hail Mary, Full of Grace,"
And how to greet a neighbor
With a smile and embrace.
You taught me that all things
Come from Jesus up above.
But most of all, sweet Mother,
You taught me how to love.

You taught me that all leprechauns
Possessed a pot of gold
And that they had these unicorns
Back in the days of old.
You taught me that a fantasy
Could end up with a scream.
You taught me not to give up,
Not to give up on a dream.

You taught me words of wisdom
And tended to my every need.
You gave me all the tools
That a man needs to succeed.
You filled my world with laughter,
And you brightened up my world.
And these are the reasons why
You're my best and favorite girl.

Heartfelt Poem About Brothers Growing Up And Apart

My brother was always my best friend,
We would play sports and we'd just pretend.
I'd hit a homer, a goal he'd score,
You see I was Yaz and he was Orr.

My brother was always my best friend,
We would play sports and we'd just pretend.
I'd hit a homer, a goal he'd score,
You see I was Yaz and he was Orr.

As we grew up in The Project Courts,
Nothing mattered except for sports.
We never once thought about a girl,
As we lived in our fantasy world.

For in the courtyard in which we'd play,
The next Bobby Orr would proudly say.
"Ronnie, someday when I'm all grown up,
I'll help The B's win The Stanley Cup.

Score the winning goal in the last game,
And all of Boston will chant my name.
But till that day comes I guess once more,
You can be Yaz and I will be Orr."

Butchie and I played hockey for fun,
And we weren't out to hurt anyone.
But then came drugs, fast money and girls,
And playing sports wasn't in this world.

Because as the years went flying by,
Butchie's goal was to be a Wise Guy.
With the new meaning of the word "score",
They'd be no more Yaz and no more Orr.

I saw Butchie in the project court,
Where we had played every single sport.
His eyes were bugged and his vision blurred,
And when he spoke his speech was slurred.

His face was pale, his expression blank,
He told me he was robbing a bank.
I said, "Butchie, what about poor Ma?
Her heart can't take another scar".

But the madness in my brother's eyes,
Brought out the sadness in my cries.
For there was hatred not seen before,
Back when I was Yaz and he was Orr.

And on the day he was sent to jail,
I had a vision that seemed so real.
I pictured him on a breakaway,
I saw him wink and I heard him say.

"Ronnie, someday when I'm all grown up,
I'll help The B's win The Stanley Cup.
Score the winning goal in the last game,
And all of Boston will chant my name".

As fate would have it, it was his name,
That truly was Butchie's claim to fame.
But in my heart I just wish once more,
I could be Yaz and he could be Orr.

I quickly knelt and prayed to God

I could have sworn I owned the world
Right then and there I knew for sure

Well, the dishes are done,
There's nothing in the sink.
So I think I'll sit,
And pour myself a drink.

But just as I sit,
I hear her voice.
And I've got to get up,
Because I've got no choice.

You see, I've got this woman,
Who says she's my wife.
And says I promised to love her,
For the rest of my life.
She's awful bossy,
And overbearing too.
And she loves to tell me,
What to do!

She says, "Ronald, are the dishes done?
Did you wash and dry each one?
Ronald, did you put them away,
Don't you listen to what I say?"

And I say,

"Yes, Dear, the dishes are done,
I washed and dried each one.

Because I always do whatever you say."

But I don't know why,
I let her treat me this way.
And I swear,
I'm going to leave her someday.
I'm going to walk out,
And I'm going to have some fun.
But until that day,

The Big Apple awoke, a new day had begun.
The Statue of Liberty was standing so proud
As God and Freedom were singing out loud.

The Big Apple awoke, a new day had begun.
The Statue of Liberty was standing so proud
As God and Freedom were singing out loud.

Native New Yorkers were starting to enter
The Twin Towers called The World Trade Center.
They went to their office and they worked with pride
On this day when a part of America died.

The people of Boston were also at work
Responsibilities they never would shirk.
The traffic was brutal as it is every morn,
But each day they brave it for the show must go on.

Now Downtown was open, Logan Airport was too
As people boarded their flights they had not a clue
Terrorists were sitting right there by their side
On this day when a part of America died.

Now at 8:46, the whole world was in shock
When there was an explosion that shook the whole block,
And downtown Manhattan was like a war zone,
For these terrorists attacked us right in our own home

As the planes hit The Towers, there was a bad fire.
The people were screaming as the flames grew higher,
But through this disaster they still showed their pride
On this day when a part of America died.

The police and firemen didn't think of themselves.
Not one person said, "It's every man for himself."
For to those trapped inside each man was a brother.
On their wounded shoulders they carried each other

Although September Eleventh brought death and dismay.
We all banded together in the U.S.A.
We showed our courage, our strength and our pride
On this day when a part of America died.

The frigerator is full of beer,
And the couch is full of crumbs.
I go to bed and in my head,
I just know he's going to come.

The frigerator is full of beer,
And the couch is full of crumbs.
I go to bed and in my head,
I just know he's going to come.

For my dear old Dad, has made me sad,
By playing house with me,
And you can bet, I can't forget,
All the things he's done to me.

For he's robbed me of my purity,
And he's stripped me of my pride,
He took from me my virginity,
And he ruined me inside.

It makes no sense my innocence,
Was forced to take a tragic fall.
I don't know why but I know that I,
Have become my Daddy's Doll.

I'm so confused for I've been abused,
And I don't think he will stop.
It sounds absurd but If I say a word,
I know I'll get a pop.

And I'll have to lie about my eye,
When it is black and blue.
I slipped and fell, I hurt like hell,
But what am I to do?

It will do more harm if I tell my Mom,
Because she'll think it's a lie.
And for a fact, she'll tell me that,
"Daddy's not that type of guy".

And because I'm young, I bite my tongue,
And my tears begin to fall.
I wonder why I have to cry,
And be my Daddy' Doll.
