About Beryl Edmonds

My interest and love of poetry began at school, when I was fourteen years of age. The class were given the project of writing an anthology of verse, using our own poetry and designing the cover for our book.
I really enjoyed the project and still have the book I made.
Poetry has remained a lifelong hobby, I enjoy reading and writing poems to this very day.

As poets we may not have a stake
in the Hall of Fame
Or not even Poet Laureate
put beside our name
But there's one thing tho' all poets know
that is for certain
Poetry's in the blood since life begun
till close of curtain.

This poem should be shouted from the rooftops. Oh for worldwide peace. We have enough problems with climate change, we do not need wars. Well done writing it Beryl. Best wishes, Ann.

Friends are everything you say in your Acrostic poem Brother John.

Flowers that we gather along life's highway,
are friends kept in memory's floral bouquet.
When you've a good friend you are never alone.
When you're in need, you can just pick up the phone.

Great read, great laugh, loved it...

What a journey it must surely have bean
Blown away on a mattress in full steam
Seeing places you've not bean to before
O'er wild windy turbulent foreign shores
Enough gas between you two, full of beans
For fuelling magnificent flying machines.

"God's Creation" is a beautiful poem, Brother John. We are indeed truly blessed, so why do humans make the world such a mess?

A beautiful romantic poem, William...

Those in love don't see love, they feel it.
Hidden in their hearts are the secrets.
Only they know what lights their fire,
The mystic magic of shared desire.

Brother John,
That's so, so touching and beautiful.
I believe there's a Saint Valentine's Day in heaven and that flowers grow there.
Do not worry, do not despair for roses are abundant in paradise I swear.
God hears and answers all prayers and He'll present red roses to loved ones on this special day of the year, because He cares.
