Friends Walking Together

This poem was written to encourage my cousin to come out of her darkness and allow me to guide her to the shining light. Both of us suffered as children to childhood sexual abuse. She is set to see that we can't change what happened in our past, but we can change the future. I pray for her every day.

Come Fly With Me

Walk with me along the path,
And reach up toward the sky.
I'll be right beside you,
Through each new thing you try.
And anytime you're ready,
I'll give you wings to fly.

If you've come upon some roadblocks
That you struggle to get through,
Just know that I have gone ahead
To clear the path for you.
And soon you'll find the place
That you have been walking to.

Walk with me, talk with me.
I'll hear each laugh and cry.
I'll be your help in trouble,
Your protector and ally,
And anytime you're ready,
I'll give you wings to fly.
