Moments By The Creek

Published by Family Friend Poems June 17, 2026 with permission of the Author.

I remember moments by the creek,
Oh, it was so long ago.
We were so young then,
How we'd jump and play,

And mold clay
Into little statues at play.

How the water would hum past
As we played among the reeds.
It always seemed...
Endless, the day we'd see,

Time measured not by clocks,
But by the moments we'd live.
As the sun sank beyond the hills,
And the orange glow brought its chill,

We'd chase the fading light across those hills,
Certain life was not a dream.

Though now the years have carried me far,
Across these endless skies I fare,
Whenever I am home,
I still go down to the creek,
And listen to our laughter echo among those reeds.
