A True Friend

My life has not been easy.
Hard times, I've seen my share.
Through trials and tribulations,
you were always standing there.

You lent an ear and gave a hand
and always seemed to understand.

At times when I was torn and weak
and could not bear the stress,
you always gave your all to me,
never any less.

To you I'm always grateful for all that we have shared,
for standing right beside me, showing that you cared.
