When The Words Won't Come

I Tried To Write A Poem

I tried to write a poem
But I couldn't find the words.
They've taken a vacation
So my poem's been deferred.

They gave no indication
That they wouldn't be around.
No, they just up and left me
And they're nowhere to be found.

This is not the first time
That they've left me in the lurch.
They'll show up when they're ready
So I'm calling off the search.

Perhaps they felt mistreated
And this time they've gone for good,
To find someone who'll craft them
In a way I never could.

I hope they come back to me
And put to rest my fears,
But I think that they've absconded
And made off with my ideas.

Hilarious, exactly what happens. It's a conspiracy against to pervert the course of poetic license. Thanks, I needed a good laugh.

I loved this poem as it really resonates with me. I like to write a bit of poetry myself, so I recognise that feeling when it just doesn't happen. I would really like to see a photo and short bio of you, Cynthia, as you are considered one of Family Friend Poems' top poets. I enjoy your poetry and would love to know just a little more about the person behind it all. Please...

Very best wishes,
Ann (D Stevenson)
