61. A Place To Be
Ever gotten there?
To that place where
You have nothing to prove
and can just be.
Ever gotten there?
To that place where
You have nothing to prove
and can just be.

Famous Poem
The holiest of all holidays are those
Kept by ourselves in silence and apart;
The secret anniversaries of the heart,
When the full river of feeling overflows;--

I wake up each day
On this journey of mine,
Grabbing each moment
Of my limited time.
Ann: I just ran across your comments. I'm glad I reached someone with my poems. I don't know which poem you were referring to, but I'm glad you enjoyed it. Did you read No More Whippoorwill,...
He danced as a buck,
sang as an elder and
beat a drum as long as he was able.
I'd be happy, only if...
Our often deceptive belief -
If I were a superstar,
Fleeting eternity
surrounds the mountaintop,
nestled in a lush green valley
time forgot.
I can't prevent attitudes
from knocking upon my door,
but I decide which to let in
and which ones to ignore.
I watch the hands on the clock tick by
And I wonder where time goes.
Will this be the year to end all years?
Well, only God can know.
Excellent poem, as always. Keep writing...
Very best wishes,
Ann
Famous Poem
I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: "Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown
As life unravels, be brave and bold,
Never criticise, neither grudges hold.
Live in harmony, with your fellow man,
Following nature, as our lord planned.
Excellent poem and excellent wisdom.
Nice work!
God bless
I can't be certain, but I believe we have met before.
There's an eerie connection between us; of this I'm very sure.
You seem so familiar like our paths have crossed somehow.
I wonder maybe in a dream or a memory long past now.
I don't mind accolades
freely passed on my way,
I'll take encouragement
gladly, any given day.
I really relate to this poem and many of your other poems. I should love to know more about you and what started you on the path to becoming a poet. Perhaps you could fill in your bio on...
