Spring Poem

A poem about recognizing the signs of the coming of spring. I used to be an Infant school teacher with special responsibility for English language. Learning poetry by heart is of great benefit to memory training and I used to enjoy writing poems for my class to recite at assemblies. Each subject relating to the subject of that week's school theme. This is one of them.

It Must Be Spring

Hush, Can you hear it?
The rustling in the grass,
Bringing you the welcome news
Winter's day is past.
Soft, Can you feel it?
The warm caressing breeze,
Telling you the sticky buds
Are bursting on the trees.
Look, Can you see them?
The primrose in the lane,
Now you must believe it -
Spring is here again.
