Cancer you monster
let go of my son,
We won't let you take him,
don't think you have won.
Thought you could sneak in
like a thief in the night,
Trample our spirit,
then take my child's life.
You started this battle
but we'll win this war,
We caught you red handed,
you'll live no more.
We fight you with chemo
it's making him ill,
Your time here is short,
its you this will kill.
With courage and faith
his fear he'll walk through,
There is no surrender,
just the death of you!

I have known Lorna since she was just 13. She was my first love, and Sinjin since he was maybe 4, where I met him in Seaside, CA, and we watched Barney together. During this whole ordeal Lorna and I have not lost touch in all of these years and have come to learn of her courage as a mother and survivor of a child with cancer. Over the lengthy time of Sinjin's battle with cancer, Lorna and I have communicated off and on and I learned the anguish she had to endure through Sinjin and her ordeal. I can only praise her and wish the two, both Sinjin and his mother, Lorna the best in life. You two have proven an example of what a relationship should be.
A dear and loving friend,

I enjoyed this poem very much. I was told I have cancer 4 years ago. I'm still fighting also. Please read my poem on cancer, "How a Day Changes". I hope it will give you greater hope.

I really like this poem. My mother is fighting cancer right now and I'm very scared she won't make it. I don't want to lose her just not now, not like this. So when I read this poem it made me think yeah that's right cancer did come in like a thief in the night and with courage, faith, and prayers this will come to pass. Just got to be positive. thank you.

This poem hit home for me. We lost my sister to ovarian cancer at age 66 and it was so hard to watch her suffer. I pray that sinjin will recover. The author's description is correct. Cancer is a monster and I pray that the treatment sends the monster away for good.
