This poem is about an old friend. She comes to school with a fake smile and everything, and I see her hide the scars and lies about the bruises she receives when she gets home.

you run in fear
you walk in fear
you hide in fear
you show in fear

life's a nightmare
one that never ends
one you can't escape
one where your worst fears are your reality

as day after day
you're reminded of your mistakes
with the scars you try to hide
the bruises you lie for

your tear scarred face
puts on a fake smile
a fake laugh
a fake story

that all disappears
when you walk in those doors
and nothing you do is right
and he reminds you

your pillow soaked
your cheeks scarred
and you're drowning
with the tears you always cry

This poem reminded me of how I used to be. My case is not that bad but it was really heavy on me. It took many years to recover.
When you see your friend again, please tell her there is someone here who bear the same scar. If I can be of some help, I'd gladly do so. Because help is one thing I've been yearning for since that time but never get.
Thanks for sharing your poem, Ray.
