Lie Out Loud

I cry alone
But dance in crowds
I whisper truth
But lie out loud

I hide my hope
But make believe
I dare to dream
But daren’t achieve

I lose my smile
But play at bliss
I take my aim
But often miss

I walk so weak
But fake my force
I proudly speak
But hear remorse

I scream inside
But battle brave
I delve down deep
But I’m not saved

I cry alone
But dance in crowds
I whisper truth
But lie out loud

I absolutely love this poem. I do like to over analyze some poetry, but this poem could mean so much. This poem really touched my heart. I know how it feels to be there but not actually be there, faking every move. I've been dealing with multiple mental illnesses and traumas, I'm only 14, but I am always told that I'm more mature than most kids, or more understanding of this dark world. I have been getting better, but this poem just goes to show that somebody can look happy, or completely fine, but they are actually dealing with a lot and faking every move. Each word is just a bluff.

Thank you so much for sharing your kind and honest feedback about my poem. I hope you're O.K. For every person that doesn't get you, there are many people who understand. It took me years to start sharing how I feel, but now that I do, I find empathy in even the most unlikeliest corners.
