Summer Poem

Summer Adventures In June Haiku

I love the different seasons of the year. This haiku-style poem is about the full moon of June, as summer really kicks in. Sometimes we even see a pink or reddish tint to the moon or halo, indicating a hot day to come. It also shows the power of the moon to control the ocean tides. Fishing on a summer day gives a sense of relaxation and joy, and if fortunate, can result in a delicious dinner. That seems like something to whistle about. This is written for my husband and two sons.

Full strawberry moon,
ushers in hot days of June,
high tides fill the dune,

hot sun rising soon,
fishing in the afternoon,
whistling my own tune!
