Ocean Poem

The Facade Of The Ocean

Hello everyone, my name is Megan, and I'm a 26 year old college student. I started writing poetry when my husband began his deployment with the U.S. Navy. Before he left we had a mutual friend pass away in a surfing accident off the coast of California. That incident inspired this short poem.

Blue waters peaceful as ice,
Standing frozen as the rays of light break through the waves.
The ocean plays and tumbles
Like a child after school,
But what may seem peaceful to the eye
Tells another story underneath:
Mother Nature's untamed beast
Fighting to be released.
