Us Two
Wherever I am, there's always Pooh,
There's always Pooh and Me.
Whatever I do, he wants to do,
"Where are you going today?" says Pooh:
Wherever I am, there's always Pooh,
There's always Pooh and Me.
Whatever I do, he wants to do,
"Where are you going today?" says Pooh:
I often wish I were a King,
And then I could do anything.
If only I were King of Spain,
Christopher Robin
Had wheezles
And sneezles,
They bundled him
I wake up this morning, my 90-year-old body feeling well as it casually recites the Sneezles poem in the back of my mind. I have done so many other times! My four grown children are now...
Little Boy kneels at the foot of the bed,
Droops on the little hands little gold head.
Hush! Hush! Whisper who dares!
Christopher Robin is saying his prayers.
When I was a very little boy, I used to stay round my Nana's house fairly regularly. Every time I did, she would tuck me up in bed and sing this poem to me in her beautiful, soothing voice....
A bear, however hard he tries,
Grows tubby without exercise.
Our Teddy Bear is short and fat,
Which is not to be wondered at;
When I was 3 or 4, I recited this poem to the Bayridge Business and Professional Women's bridge club. My aunt and godmother, Margaret Desmond, was hosting them at my grandparents' house in...
I met a Man as I went walking:
We got talking,
Man and I.
"Where are you going to, Man?" I said
Halfway down the stairs
Is a stair
Where I sit.
There isn't any
My mother loved this poem and often used to recite it, right up until just before she died at age 94. So it is special to me, as well.
These are my two drops of rain
Waiting on the window-pane.
I am waiting here to see
I like watching raindrops going down the windows on a rainy day. It's a good way to pass the time.
No one can tell me,
Nobody knows,
Where the wind comes from,
Where the wind goes.
Yes, I absolutely love this poem. It just reads so beautifully and really grabs you as soon as you begin to read it. I just love anything that describes nature and weather and makes a person...
When I was One,
I had just begun.
When I was Two,
I was nearly new.
I recited this to my granddaughter on her 6th birthday, and she beamed from ear to ear. Very sweet moment.
