Confused about Love Poem

Changes In A Relationship

My girlfriend and I have been seeing each other for a while now and our relationship has been through many hardships, but through communication and honesty we have always come out stronger. Recently, things seemed to have changed, and I'm trying to figure out what these things mean.

Please tell me something,
and do not lie.
Is something fading
between you and I?

I've noticed changes
in the recent past.
I've waited patiently,
hoping it wouldn't last.

I give everything
I can give you,
but what's given back
seems long overdue.

You say nothing is wrong
and you are just fine,
acting as if
the problem is mine.

Something is different,
not like it was before.
I'm doing my best,
trying to restore

The way we showed love
to one another
without crowding you
or trying to smother.

I just need to know
if one thing is true.
Do you still love me
as much as you used to?

To all the girls out there, I don’t understand why you need to be loved by someone who doesn’t deserve you. Yes, everyone wants to get married with haste, but that often leads to things which cause regrets. Boys are tricky and sometimes deceitful. Why don’t you focus on your life and what makes you happy? Trust me, your true love will come. Patience is the key to everything, so don’t rush into love. Love will always find you.

Your words resonated within me. I was able to feel and understand from both perspectives of this situation. My partner and I just went through a rough patch in our relationship. Through communication and time, we were able to get through it by applying the changes we needed.

I can surely relate to this poem and these were exactly the words I kept on asking myself before my ex-boyfriend and I broke up. I don't know where things went wrong or where the both of us went wrong that we end up hating each other today. Maybe 7 years is just too late for us. Maybe the love that we have been holding on for that 7 years already faded out. We tried to fight for the love we knew, but things around us keep on changing every single day of our relationship. And I cannot make it if I am just doing it all alone. Maybe he has changed. Maybe he got tired. We ended our relationship with so many questions on my minds. But I hope that one day he'd face me again and he'd tell me the real reason why, of all people, it has to be him who broke my heart.

I couldn't have written a poem better describing my life! I'm going through the exact same thoughts. I feel like I'm just not good enough to be loved and cared for. It's going to be his loss one day.
