Birth Poem

The Day My Daughter Entered This World

I wrote this poem when my daughter was 2 months old. She is now 22 and has a beautiful 4 month old daughter of her own. This poem is dedicated to my angel, Shayna Renae (LaCourse) Rockhold, born on September 7th, 1994.

My Angel

In the wee hours of morn,
A miracle took place when my daughter was born

With coal black hair and rosy cheeks and eyes that sparkled blue.
Washed away was all the pain that I had just been through.

As you were placed into my arms, I looked down at your beautiful face.
I drew you closer to my heart where forever you have a place.

It's amazing how in an instant my life took on a new meaning.
So overwhelming were my emotions. I felt as if I was dreaming.

As I looked at my tiny angel that was sent to me from above,
I closed my eyes and thanked the Lord for this baby girl to love!
