My Higher Power

Published by Family Friend Poems July 3, 2026 with permission of the Author.

The scaffolding that I've built,
has shifted from beneath.
I've lost my grip,
and dropped to my knees.

God lends a hand,
and shows some release.
I'm lifted with grace,
as I float with ease.

I'm fair in height,
and raised in degrees.
Declining my addiction,
while accepting my disease.

God has inspired me,
to get myself clean.
No more fear and shame,
just sobriety.
