Take Me Away

For once I don't want a steaming cup of coffee
and hear the clomp clomp of my boss' high heels
for once in my life I want to be taken away
to the rivers and mountains on my four wheels
where the birds chirp all day long
and the whole place is carpeted with green
where fresh milk and curd comes from the cows
and no technology can be heard or seen
just the clouds, the river, the mountains, and the sun
and at night beneath the countless stars I shall sleep
in the morning the sun will kiss my face
I will belong to a place where no one but silence speaks
so take me away to the mountains today
for inside these four walls I can no longer stay

I like the poem and understand where it is coming from. You know sometimes when there is sun all the time, people start to complain of the heat and wished there was rain. But then you when there is rain all the time you hear complaints of getting wet from the rain and wished there was sun..I guess there is a time for everything and a season for every color of life. But it's hard when you are still in one long season..I guess it is a cry for "I want out". Like the poem

Take me away, was a touching poem. Life seems to be getting too predictable for the poet and he want to get away from it all and find solace in nature's lap. It is okay to do so for a while and his thoughts are entirely understandable. Many a time I too have felt the same. But, I have only this to say and that is, we should be thankful for being alive and savor life when we can. It is short for so many of our fellow humans and they are snatched away from this world even before they have even experienced it half-way. So spare a thought for those fallen by the way-side. They are flowers that are eternal and though they will not bloom again on earth, they are in God's beautiful garden.
