Another Chance

Published by Family Friend Poems August 2006 with permission of the Author.

If I had another chance, would it all be the same?
If I told you how I feel, would you consider my pain?
If I had another chance, it wouldn't happen again
I would really let you know how I'm feeling within.
If I had another chance, we'd still be together
Even though I know that your love is forever.
If I had another chance, I would tell you I care,
And you know it's hard for me to let emotions appear.
If I had another chance I would keep you close
'Cause it's a tease every night when I reach for your ghost.
If I had another chance, I'd keep a smile on your face
Because you kept your son happy and that can't be erased.
If I had another chance, my mother would still be alive
'cause when you left, every chance that I needed also died.
If I had another chance, I would see you again,
But I guess memories and pictures will keep you close...until then.
