  1. Christmas In Heaven

    • By John P. Read
    • Published by Family Friend Poems December 2019 with permission of the Author.

I wrote this poem with my wife in mind who passed away at age 63. I hope dear Santa found his way to heaven.

    in Christmas Poems

Santa, do you know where heaven is?
Maybe your reindeer know the way.
For I have a special present
I need delivered on Christmas day.

  2. So Lucky Are The Angels

Christmas is not the same without our younger son, a handsome, vibrant young man. He was recently taken by God and the angels to Heaven. Truly Christmas for our family and myself can and never will be the same, but we all believe my son is in Heaven with the angels now, and oh how very lucky those angels are to have such a loving precious soul in the midst of Heaven. My precious gift has become a gift to the angels in Heaven.

    in Christmas Poems

Since you're gone, Christmas time will never be the same.
When asked what I wish for, I can only speak your name.
The only gift I ever want at Christmas time for me
Is my precious, loving son beside my Christmas tree,

  4. My Wish For This Christmas

Christmas is supposed to be a happy time, but when you lose someone (or in my case, more than one), Christmas just doesn't feel the same. The grief you feel especially around Christmas can suck the joy right out of you. This poem is for people who may be feeling this way, and I just wanted to send a little Christmas wish to all of you. May you find peace and joy again around Christmas time.

    in Christmas Poems

Christmas is a happy time for friends and family,
The children are excited as they unwrap presents around the tree.

Carols are sung and lights twinkle in the night.

  5. This Christmas

My father passed away in June and this will be our first Christmas without him.
I was sitting in a café with Christmas music and twinkling lights when it hit me - the difference between this Christmas and last Christmas, his things have changed forever. I took my notebook out of my bag and wrote this poem.

    in Christmas Poems

    The golden lights are twinkling
    With Christmas in the air;
    Bing Crosby sweetly singing,
    And snowflakes in my hair.

  7. The Old Christmas Card

I found a very special old Christmas card in a box of stuff while packing to move. I stopped in my tracks and sat on the floor surrounded by boxes and opened cupboards. The card was from my beautiful Mum. She'd passed away three short years before. I was struck by the sheer beauty of the words. The card written by her shaky hand. I've still got that card and will always treasure it.

    in Christmas Poems

I found a little Christmas card.
‘Twas in a box of stuff.
I opened it and read it.
    Its verse was written thus.

  8. Three Empty Chairs

    • By Sandra Hearth
    • Published by Family Friend Poems January 2020 with permission of the Author.

Christmas is our family time, a beautiful day for all the family. Lots of noise, giggles, cooking, and games. Then we became less over these last years, and the Christmases that once held sparkle have now lost their shine. We have lost the ones we loved, and the chairs are now empty. Such loss can be so hard...

  9. First Christmas Without You

This Christmas was the first since my dad has been gone, and it was really hard getting through the holidays without him.

    in Christmas Poems

The nights are long and cold; the sun is hardly around.
Christmas time is approaching, and snow will soon cover the ground.
Trees and lights are twinkling; stockings are being hung.
The Christmas spirit is all around as carols are being sung.

  10. December 23rd

I am a typical mother, wife, aunt, daughter, sister, and I can only share from my very own experiences in life the things that are special to me. I hope to touch the heart of another human soul. This particular poem is about the nearing Christmas season. Christmas can be a very joyous time but also a very sad time of year for so many. I think that many people will relate to my feelings in this poem.

    in Christmas Poems

  11. Christmas Past, Present And Future

    • By Eric R. Harvey
    • Published by Family Friend Poems December 2018 with permission of the Author.

In December 2013 our daughter Vickie lost her fight for life after being diagnosed with cancer. She had fought so bravely. In April 2013 she was given the news that she was in remission. In July that year, my wife and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. Vickie, her two sisters, and I secretly planned a renewal of our wedding vows. We booked the church and the reception, and I surprised my wife with details three days before. Vickie was told in September the cancer had returned.

  12. Baby, I Miss You Most At Christmastime

    • By Frankie J. Rivera
    • Published by Family Friend Poems December 2014 with permission of the Author.

This poem about missing the one I love most at Christmastime when the memories are the strongest. Hi, my name is Frankie, and I am 40 years old. I actually wrote this poem in 1993 when I was at home during Christmas break during University and I was missing a friend of mine. I can remember just how cold it was that year- the icicles were falling off the roof of the house into the snow and the lights on the tree were glowing. Inside, I was just watching TV and drinking hot chocolate and decided it would make me feel better to write my feelings down on paper, and that way it would be out.

  14. Two Christmas Blessings From Above!

My poem is a special Christmas poem. I wrote it for my niece and her two precious new babies. These two little miracles brought back the gift of joy, love, merriment, and cheer to our family's life after a period of loss and grief of some very special family members, especially since our loss and grief occurred during the Christmas season. I am trying to acknowledge how God has a miraculous plan in our lives. Even in the midst of grief, He blesses us! These two babies are our Christmas blessings!!

    in Christmas Poems

Once upon a Christmas time, not very long ago,
was a loving family that lost all Christmas glow.
Tears of sadness filled the air; no more merriment or cheer.
Loss and grief of loved ones gone, so hard to bear and carry on,

  15. The Old Man

    • By Ziggy71
    • Published by Family Friend Poems December 2021 with permission of the Author.

Many people struggle during the Christmas season: no one to share the holidays with, no one to visit, and no one to visit them. The emphasis during the holidays is family and friends, but many people, young and old, have neither. Many dread the holidays. I was hoping this poem would shed some light on the subject and inspire people to visit shut-in people, say hello, pray with them, stay a while sharing food, drink, and love.

    in Christmas Poems

No Christmas cards this time of year, no one sends them anymore,
no Christmas tree to decorate, no Yuletide wreathe on the door.

No one comes to visit, to wish him Christmas cheer,
