Depression Poem by Teens

Poem About Overcoming Sadness

Why are we afraid of ourselves? We go into such a deep state of depression that we don't know how to move on. If we could only find the light in the dark, we'd be all right.

Does anyone know the price I've paid?

The things running through my head never seem to end.
I want to get out,
but the demons in my mind walk about.

It's just an uphill battle from here,
because in reality all we fear is fear.

There've got to be better days,
a sky without rain,
feelings without pain.

Let the sun come out;
with its brightness comes hope.

Hope for a better today,
hope for a better tomorrow,
hope for a better me.
