Grandfather Death Poem

You're Now Reunited With Those You Love

This poem is one I wrote after the death of my grandfather. It's kind of a letter to him.

Spread Your Wings And Soar

I wasn't ready for you to go
Wasn't prepared for you to leave
My heart is so heavy
It's a terrible truth I don't want to believe

I know you're better now
Healthy, happy, and free
I picture you on streets of gold
Heaven's gotta be awesome to see

I can only imagine the excitement
The moment your eyes found his face
The son you've missed for so long now
Standing there in the same place

And Nana... how has she been?
I bet she's a sight for sore eyes
Cricket and Robbie
You won the grand prize

You're an angel now
In the kingdom in the sky
I hope you soar, my sweet papa
Spread your wings and fly

One day God will bring me home
You can show me everything
All the beauty of that paradise
We can watch the angels' choir sing
