1. Hand Of Age
The unfriendly hand of age
Creeps up and takes hold
Of my fingers, twisting them
All of us experience change in our lives. Change is the one constant in our lives. There are changes that we look forward to and change that we fear. However, one thing is for sure. Things will not stay the same no matter how much we would like them to. When a life change occurs, we have two choices in how to respond. We can despair that a change has come and assume that things will be worse, or we can look with excitement at the new possibilities for personal growth and change in self that the change presents.

Creeps up and takes hold
Of my fingers, twisting them

If it wasn't for Waze taking me further than I needed
Or the turn in the road and back to find the entrance
If it wasn't for the endless pull in bays, grass verge mounts and slower than reasonable taxi's without decency to wave as I waited patiently for those to pass me by
I wouldn't have been there then. At that exact time.

I stand before the mirror
A stranger stares at me
I've been replaced by someone else
They're standing where I used to be.
There's an old man I pass
Almost every single day
We don't share many words cause
We really don't have anything nice to say
In the realm of time's embrace,
A second chance, a newfound grace.
When paths once crossed, missed by chance,
Destiny presents a second dance.
A lovely thought to put in a poem. I know many of us, myself included, could do with a second chance. Best wishes, Ann.
Famous Poem
Can't is the worst word that's written or spoken;
Doing more harm here than slander and lies;
On it is many a strong spirit broken,
And with it many a good purpose dies.

I’m always amazed how
You stand so very tall,
How you never give in,
You bend but do not fall.
I’ve been black long enough.
Long enough to know about the middle passage
Men, women, children, regardless of age
Back in the day, life was so clear
Families gathered and shared in the cheer
We spent our Pounds, Schillings and Pence
A time when our society had more sense
Wow, a telling reminiscence. Looks like we've come a long way. But there is hope, especially with poems like this to remind and encourage us towards better living.
Dozens of times
throughout your life,
you’ll outgrow what
you thought you
She was scared to let go.
She was worried that everything might fall apart.
But she felt this heaviness, every day, growing in her heart.
So she took a deep breath.
Letting go doesn’t
always look how you think it will.
Sometimes it happens all at once.
Sometimes it’s in phases.
Time is endless but goes too fast.
You long for the future, then yearn for the past.
Summer's heat quickly turns to frost,
A child grows, their innocence lost.
Ebony,
That is a super poem.
It contains such excellent observations and truth.
Congratulations on the poem.
God bless.
Try as I may, try as I do,
there are days when I wish
I could go back
to the girl I used to be
The earth spins like a rolling ball.
Stars shine bright then fade away.
Darkness melts and turns to light.
The sunrise starts another day.
Great job. I really like it. Putting on our wings and taking another chance could be the very best thing for us.
Famous Poem
If you want a thing bad enough
To go out and fight for it,
Work day and night for it,
Give up your time and your peace and

I like how I became motivated to proceed with caution concerning my worldly desire. I do not want my faith and hope to be misplaced. When my will is invoked by deep feelings of want for...
every day changes you
sometimes a lot
sometimes barely
but life never stops
let autumn be proof that
change is a beautiful thing
even though it can be
hard to see at first.
Good job. It's funny how change can be the thing we need the most but want the least.
The clouds never break
Like blue waters do
On this Island of Pain.
How can I stand true?
