There was no time to say goodbye.
But this I ask - please do not cry.
Remember me as you think best.
Remember the happy times, but forget the rest.

Look for me and I'll be there,
And you will find me everywhere:
In the gentle touch of the breeze
That cools the skin or swirls the leaves.

In the scent and color of flowers
That gave me such happy hours.
On sunny days, under sunny skies of blue,
Just think of me, I'll be with you.

In winter when there's cloud or mist,
The rain will give to you my kiss.
As wood smoke lingers in the air,
Look for me and I'll be there.

Where seagulls cry above the sea
And surf rolls in so endlessly.
Among towering trees that soar above,
In all these things that I once loved.

Look for me and I'll be there.
You'll feel my presence EVERYWHERE!

Joan was a very positive lady who suffered from COVID-19 twice. I enjoyed your short friendship and missed you when you left the group I lived in. A stroke didn't dampen your understanding of others. We found out you passed on October 18, 2022. You were a brilliant light in today's sometimes cruel world.

I was really touched by this story. I wish it never happened.

I just lost my bestest friend on May 11, 2019, due to an abusive ex-boyfriend. He didn't want anyone else to have her, so he took her and his own life. It is still hard to handle. I read this poem and it made me bawl my eyes out. I miss her so much. She was more than a best friend. She was my everything. I miss her dearly and I wish she wasn't gone. I still write to her so that she knows I still love and care for her.
