Death Of Partner Poem

One More Moment With The One You Loved

While almost having to experience the death of my own mother on 9/11, this subject hits close to home, as I'm sure it does for any American. This poem is dedicated to those who lost a loved one. They will never be forgotten, and this event will continue to impact our lives forever.

Your Missing Piece

Published by Family Friend Poems September 2018 with permission of the Author.

If you had a mere three seconds
With the one you truly loved,
The one who stayed beside you
Throughout times that started rough,

Would you smile and then hug him,
Momentarily forgetting pain?
Or would you take him out to dinner,
Later kissing him in the rain?

An emptiness in your chest,
An ache in your heart,
When you remember that one moment
That kept you two apart.

He never saw it coming,
Nor will he ever again,
For that day he went missing,
That September morning way back when.
