  1. 21. My Beautiful Angel

I lost my nanny 3 months ago. The hardest thing I ever had to do was say goodbye. The last 3 months have been so, so hard. I've written this poem for my Nan. I really hope you like this poem. It really means a lot to me.

Nan, to walk into your room and see you smile,
I walked over and hugged you all the time.
You always made me smile and always had stories to tell.
I loved sitting with you every day and listening to the memories you had to share.

It's only been a few minutes but seems like an eternity to me.
I miss my Grandma Flossie already, and I wish she had stayed here with me.

It's only been a few hours, but a million tears I have shed.

I'm 15 and never really thought of writing poetry, but it was really easy to write this poem because it was coming straight from the heart. I lived with my Nanny for 14 years of my life. She helped raise me and look after me. I miss her loads and loads, and I wish she was still around...

  7. 25. Missing Mama Anna

I wrote this poem about my "Mama Anna." She's the kind of grandmother you'd wish for. She was a loving, kind, generous, beautiful, and wonderful Navajo woman. Everything I am, I owe to my grandma. Loving you always, Mama. naa' tsohii

  8. 26. My Mother's Mother

This lady was my mother growing up. I loved her more than anyone on this earth. I miss her so much.

I sat there and watched her, helplessly fighting for every breath.
The doctor said she would die today, so all of the family left.
My grandfather cried and said I cannot leave your side.
Although I do not want to see you go, I have to stay to say goodbye.

  9. 27. Angel In The Window

I couldn't find the right way to say goodbye to my gran when she died, so I wrote it. I wanted her to know how she influenced me and that I missed her but that I knew she was still there somehow.

I see you in the window as you wave goodbye to me.
I hear you say a drop of milk as I go to make tea.
The stories of your life sounded like straight from a book.
Your adventures inspired me with every step I took.

  11. 29. My Most Painful Love

This poem is about my grandmother who passed away a couple of years ago. I didn't get to spend too much time with her, but I never want to forget the few memories I have of her. I loved her so much and miss her every day; therefore, I decided to write a poem in loving memory of her. Thank you so much for reading my poem, because now that I have shared her memory with you, I know I will never forget her.

On the stormy gray day you went away.
Crystal clear pure tears were shed from my face.
How will I survive without you today?
I stand here longing for your own embrace.
