I looked through others' windows
On an enchanted earth
But out of my own window--
solitude and dearth.
I looked through others' windows
On an enchanted earth
But out of my own window--
solitude and dearth.

Into this world I came,
The light of the sun,
On my face I craved.
In the cool breezing wind,
I sit upon my front porch stoop
Beneath the morning sun.
Grateful for the moment spent

My school does a speech contest every year, and this poem really caught my eye. I'm in 6th grade and definitely doing this for the speech contest. Very inspiring!
Treat me with love, dignity, respect and compassion

To love me the way I was meant to be loved.
Wow! This poem is so beautiful and heart-breaking, to be honest. My mom has cancer, and all she wants is for SOMEONE to be around. Anyone. But I get so caught up with my day to day activities...
Look not back on yesterday
or what you have left behind.
For only today is yours to claim,
and this moment only is your time.
Very easy read. Very good content. Advice I agree with. It can be hard for me to leave yesterday behind, but I can't relive it. So, I access it for what I did well and wrong. I try to learn...
