61. The Strongest Part Of Me
Even in my darkest moments
I still have that little voice
encouraging me to go on.
To stand up and keep fighting.
Even in my darkest moments
I still have that little voice
encouraging me to go on.
To stand up and keep fighting.

Keep calm and breathe when feeling stressed,
when life is tough. If you're depressed
go for a walk, breathe in fresh air;
talk to a friend you know will care;
A woman is beauty innate,
A symbol of power and strength.
She puts her life at stake.
She's real, she's not fake!
Driving home one day after hours of monotonous office work,
Saw a man sitting by the road; looked as one down on his luck.
Paid small notice to the figure; my lonely life was in a rut.
He was just another beggar holding out a shiny tin cup.
What a beautiful poem. God bless all the veterans: dead, alive, and the ones still fighting. To all of you, a proud salute, my prayers, and love.

A life that's now forgotten
Thank you for the kind words, Ann! Ironically, your story and poems are amongst those that inspired some of these words so I'm glad to hear that it at least resonates in some capacity! May...
I wanna start fresh...
and forget this place, the wicked world I live in,
but not forget how glorious and essential it was to me.
Very good words have been given to the stronger self-discovered after failures in life. Such attitude is essential to keep moving in today's very competitive life.
Vagaries of this life can be
Tough and hard to fathom,
And yet have they conquered me?
Look how far I've come.
This is definitely an inspirational poem. Everyone has challenges in life, but how we deal with them is crucial to our own well-being. My favorite stanza was the second!
I live with depravity,
Pressure like gravity.
Why can't they just see
I want to live happily?
Her eyes glowed with such ambition,
And her mouth spoke words of love and kindness.
She took pride in wandering;
She walked to find the places her heart longed for.
Wake up, beautiful.
Wake up from this tragedy.
Breathe,
Return to reality.
To be kind,
I must think.
To be selfless,
It's not about me.
So well done. It's an important message and I like your style. Very good job. Self-improvement and introspection can be tough jobs but well worth the effort.
slow down when your world
is spinning too fast
when day and night are stuck in dusk
make sure to enjoy life
I know the screams sound like thunder
I promise we won't go under
I know the heart feels hollow
There will be blessings behind the shadow
Why can't we sleep forever
And live inside our dreams,
Sheltered from the heartbreak
That life can sometimes bring.
I am worthy. There is nothing
that can or will happen today that
could convince me otherwise.
Death is an inevitable fate.
Someday we have to go.
You hope you did
your best in life,
We are sorry for all that has happened.
It hurt us too,
And together we will mend
Your heart all the way through.
Even when you feel like a million scattered pieces,
you are still whole.
Even when you’re unsure of the path you’re walking,
you still have purpose.
We wait for what we long for.
We long for what we need.
Impatience and anxiety
Give root to errant deed,
At 70, I gave up reading poetry and attempting to write it. At 77, I was diagnosed with cancer and do not really know how long I have left. Instinctively, I turned back to poetry to ease the...
