Blessed To Have A Wonderful Mom

This poem is about giving my mum the credit that she deserves. I've put her through hell in the past, and we haven't always seen eye to eye, but I wouldn't change a thing, as it has made us the best of friends. I can't ever imagine my life without her. Love you, Mum! This one's for you.

Dear Mum

There's no one in this world
Who knows me quite like you.
If ever I'm in need,
You're the first one I turn to.

You're the reason that I'm here,
Blessed with life itself.
You have always cared for me,
In sickness and in health.

I think we've grown together.
We've laughed and we've cried,
But no matter what's been thrown our way,
You've always been by my side.

Although you're my mum.
You are also my best friend,
A friendship I am proud to say
Will never, ever end.

When I have my children,
I hope I'm half as good as you
At being a mum and friend to them,
No matter what they go through.

And whenever you need me, Mum,
My arms are open wide.
I'm blessed that I'm the only one
That's felt your heart beat from inside.
