Love Does Exist

When you look deep into my eyes,
whisper in my ear you are forever mine,
hold me close in your warm embrace,
lay a soft passionate kiss upon my face,
sing me to sleep every night,
wake me with a smile glowing bright,
I feel protected when I am with you.
You said you love me, my love for you only grew.
You are my sunshine when it rains.
Only with you does it feel like the real thing.
Walks on the beach, trips to the park.
In my heart you always make a spark.
Every day I wear the necklace you gave me.
Because of you I will never be the same.
Your eyes, your smile, I can't resist.
Ever since I found you, I know love does exist...

Two years ago, I met a girl and instantly fell in love, but she had a boyfriend, so I hid my feelings and became her best friend. They broke up, and my feelings came rushing back. We were so close I was afraid to lose her, so my feelings stayed hidden and she got a girlfriend. Fast forward a year, the two of us and a mutual friend were all hanging out at my house. A friend told me she felt the same way, but I didn’t listen. Later, the girl I liked started crying, and I didn't know why, but my friend came up and said it's because she felt the same way and I need to say how I feel. So, I did. I told the girl how I felt even though I thought it was a bad idea because she was dating someone. The next day she broke up with her girlfriend and told me she also instantly fell in love when we met and that she dated other people to get me out of her head. We've now been dating a bit over a year and it's been the best year of my life.
