I have seen many friends, family members, and even strangers become broken hearted by who they thought was their true love. I decided to write a poem from their point of view.

My love was endless,
my love was divine.
My love for you
was only a sign
that only you
could own my heart,
and that nothing could ever
break us apart.
The love you gave
was barely some,
and I thought your best love
was only to come.
I came to find
that my heart was broken.
I was trying to make
my mind
be woken.
Whatever I did
could not change the truth.
Our love would never
restore its youth.
I opened my eyes,
only to see,
that you were gone;
it was only me.
