For My Aunt

My aunt is to me the greatest person in this world,
one of a kind and one in a million.

She has the biggest heart with the most caring touch,
which she shares with so many of us.

Her soul is made of pure love,
yet she's worth way more than gold.

In my eyes, she will always be
the most beautiful person to walk the earth.

To me she's the smartest woman I know,
and it truly does show.

There is no one that compares to her,
no one that even comes close.

I appreciate all the advice she has given me.
I take it in with immense gratitude.

The memories I will forever cherish,
for they are priceless.

For all she has done, I will forever be thankful,
and my love for her only grows more with each day that passes.

On a high pedestal is where I hold her,
for I admire her so much more than she knows.

Having her a part of my life is the greatest gift of all,
being in her presence is God's blessing to me.

Looking deep inside of her,
I see that strong, wise woman I hope to become.

Giving, helpful, loving, caring, and kind,
is what defines her.

She is not only my favorite aunt, but she is my role model,
and to be like her would be my only wish.

My dad passed away in April. My Aunt was the one who had to call me and give me the news of my dads passing. She has been there since day one, she helped me make his arrangements and has been very supportive. We talk all the time on the phone. She shares stories about my dad, and I love her for that (I was not raised around my dad) She has visited me since my dad has been gone, and I enjoyed her so much. She has been my ROCK for the last couple of months, I appreciate her for that. If they had an award for the "Best Aunt" I would sure give it to her, but instead I sent her flowers to tell her how much I have appreciated her.

My aunt is not smartest. Yet, she get A's on tests. This only happens is she studies for hours. I remember sitting there on her phone. I even remember how happy she was when she learned how to work the printer. We are bargain shoppers. We stick to our budget. We have the funniest times!! AMEN

This poem means a lot to me because my aunt is like a big sister to me. It's very hard to explain what we have but, when I read this poem I knew I had to read it her at her birthday party because this poem is one of a kind. Lately she has been going through some troubles so I think this poem will really mean a lot to her.

Well, I was only a young girl when I was abused. My mom, she would hurt me in horrible ways. And, I didn't know my Aunt. She and I didn't know each other in any way, and that was how it was supposed to be. Until one day, my Aunt came to the house we were staying at. I had never seen anyone who I loved so much. I didn't know her, but she told me, "I will help you Andie." And I waited. And waited for the help she promised to give me. And it didn't come. Week after week. Until one day, I came home to my dad's apartment, and see a blond women sitting outside. Just sitting. And I smiled. I knew it was the day. I went inside, and listened to her and my father yell, and talk, and then yell again. Then, finally, she came in the house. Went to my little sister and brother and told them to go to the car. Then to me. She hugged me. And she saved me. She is the most important person in the world to me. My favorite person in the world.

I am 25 and an aunt. I love my sisters babies as my own. My twin sister however I am concerned if she does not change soon. I will have to step in and be the mother she is not able to be at the moment. My niece is two and her well being is my main priority. I am looking for any aunties who have or are in a similar situation. I will not allow my niece to go with out. I love my twin sister with all my heart. But a child is a fragile and precious gift and deserves all the love that can be given. I won't go into detail. I am just afraid my sister is not able to give that unconditional love.

I absolutely love this poem. It is everything that my aunt is. She has been taking care of me for about 3 years now & I appreciate even the little things she does because its not required of her. I personally believe just like there's a mothers day, there should be an aunts day because many aunts are starting to step up and feel the void of parents. I love my auntie Arlene with all my heart. She has been my biggest blessing and I thank God for her everyday :)

I just received a letter from my niece and she sent me a copy of this poem and I was brought to tears as she dedicated it to me and meant every word of it. I am very close to my niece, I am like a 2nd mother to her and the love between is strong. She added a last paragraph worded for me and it was very moving. Very moving.
