Spiritual Poem about Death

Poem About Healing

I lost my 34-year-old son from this earth by suicide on Oct. 3. As I travel this journey of grief, God pours healing into my broken heart. He's waiting to pour words of hope into your heart too.

I thought you were gone
Until deep in my sleep
God brought you back
And made my heart leap.

I thought you were gone
As I cried through the day
But God then reminded
He had more to say:

I gave my own Son
To die on the cross
To pay for all debts
Of sinners once lost.

That guilt that you feel
Is only a trick
Of Satan the devil
Who beats with a stick.

No need to fear
He has no real power
Your son is with me
Safe in my tower!

Although it's been so many years, the thought of you gone, brings back my tears. I still remember the way you laughed, the stories you told and the meanings they had. As a child I remember the love you gave, I bring the same love as I visit your grave. The warmth I feel as I talk to you, you reply from heaven. I'll always be close to you. I never questioned why God took you so soon, I see your reflection Dad, as I stare at the moon. Thank you God for the memories of my father, one day I'll see you again Dad, love and miss you like crazy. Your son Kevin
