Poems For Mother's Day From Daughters

These poems are perfect for daughters to share with their mothers on Mother's Day.

These mother-daughter poems have been selected for daughters to share with their mothers for Mother's Day. Daughters have a different relationship with their mothers than sons. The mother-daughter relationship is special and unique, and these poems especially reflect that particular aspect. As girls grow and turn into young women, the relationship with their mothers changes as well. It moves that of a mother-child relationship to a friendship.

16 Poems For Mother's Day From Daughters

  1. Mother, A Cradle To Hold Me

    Famous Poem

When we are small, our mothers are everything to us. Her arms were made to cradle us and provide for all our needs. At first, we don’t want to be separated from her. As time passes, a mother helps us become more independent. Even in our teenage years, we still love our mother even though we don’t show it well, and we finally come to realize the wisdom she has. This is a great Mother’s Day poem that thanks her for her guidance and unconditional love. No matter our stage of life, whether an infant, young child, teenager, or adult, our mother’s love for us is unconditional.

    It is true
    I was created in you.
    It is also true
That you were created for me.

Do we ever stop to think of the infinite loving acts of kindness that our mothers have bestowed upon us?

    in Mother Poems

Her hands held me gently from the day I took my first breath.
Her hands helped to guide me as I took my first step.
Her hands held me close when the tears would start to fall.
Her hands were quick to show me that she would take care of it all.

  7. Mother

I love to write and wanted to write something special for my mom and for all the other mothers in the world. I am a mother of three, and as I look at my kids, it takes me back to when I was a young girl with my mom. I cherish her and am very blessed I had a mother like her.

    in Mother's Day Poems

No matter if her children are near or far apart.
    A mother gives never-ending love.

  8. A Mother's Love

    • By Yasmine Ellaz
    • Published by Family Friend Poems May 2018 with permission of the Author.

I have always cherished my mother's love. She has pushed me to do better and become a strong person. My mother is my best friend, and after the disappointment and sorrow in which I have caused her in my past, she truly deserves to be recognized as the most inspiring parent. I want my story to capture the hearts of all the beautiful mothers out there who have held their daughters' hands throughout the hardship, agony, and darkness. A mother's love can never be replaced. We love you all dearly.

    in Mother's Day Poems

Mum, thank you for keeping me close to your heart.
Thank you for never allowing me to fall apart.
Thank you for holding me up for all these years,
But most of all, thank you for drying my tears.

    • Published by Family Friend Poems November 2017 with permission of the Author.

This poem is about giving my mum the credit that she deserves. I've put her through hell in the past, and we haven't always seen eye to eye, but I wouldn't change a thing, as it has made us the best of friends. I can't ever imagine my life without her. Love you, Mum! This one's for you.

  10. Dear Mom

    • By Nia Ivanov
    • Published by Family Friend Poems May 2019 with permission of the Author.

My mother and I have been through so much together. We have been through crazy adventures, long plane rides, fighting, crying, laughing, and so much more. We have been there for each other for as long as I can imagine. In fact, I don't remember a time when my mom wasn't by my side to help me. She is my rock, my person, my guide, and my best friend. I wanted to write this poem about our relationship to show how grateful I am for her and how much I love her. I dedicate this poem to her.

    in Mother Daughter Poems

To the first breath of my life,
You have been there from day to night.
Dear Mom, you'll always be my partner in crime.

  12. How Can I Say Thank You Enough?

    • By Verliza T. Gajeles
    • Published by Family Friend Poems May 2020 with permission of the Author.

This poem is my way of saying thank you to my Mom who never gives up on me. This is a Mother's Day poem. It's my way of saying thank you because I failed in saying this to her. This is my only way to express how thankful I am to have a mother like her. Happy Mother's Day, Mama! This is for you!

    in Mother Poems

These are the words I've constructed in my mind,
to say thank you for all that you've done.
But words are somehow hard to find.
Before I could say it, they're long gone.
