This is about my first time and how it wasn't the way I had pictured it would be.

Expectations of My First Time

Pictured bright candlelight
and everything so right.
Saw a beautiful red velvet bed
and so many sweet things said.

Thought I'd feel close
Thought I'd have chosen.
Well what everybody says is a scam
not everything follows a specific plan.

Nothing has ever looked so dark
I didn't even feel a spark.
All I felt was the cold hard floor
and I didn't plan on being that sore.

Never felt so far away
and I didn't really have a say.
It was scary and awkward
I felt so ashamed afterward.

I never saw the fireworks
and this feeling of regret lurked.
I had so many feelings unspoken
and during, I've never felt so frozen.

I thought he liked me just like he said, but the opposite was true. He said he liked my figure, beauty, and most of all my smile. Oh no, they were all lies. He just wanted one thing from me. I was so stupid to fall for the lies. What hurt most is seeing him with another person doing the same thing he did to me. Stupid love. Stupid expectations. I just hope I will get over this feeling, this feeling that never leaves. He asked, "Can you be my BFF?" Ouch! How would that even be? From lovers to BFFs?
