Grandmother Poem

I recently started writing inspirational words to friends or acquaintances who were ill or missing a loved one. At the urging of others, I began to compile the poems in a notebook. I will leave copies of these for my adult children, upon my demise.

In My Granny's Lap

Published by Family Friend Poems January 2009 with permission of the Author.

I find such a comfort
In my Granny's lap.
I snuggle and lie there
As I take my nap.
I wiggle around
Till I find my place
Then peep out to see
The love that's in her face.
Sometimes pretending to sleep,
But I'm not.
I'm just resting, enjoying
The time as we rock.
There's nothing quite like it
In all of the land
To wake up, cooing
While she holds my hand.
