Teen Crush Poem

I wrote this poem my freshman year of high school when I found out I would be moving that summer. It's about the one girl I never told how I felt because we were friends and I didn't want to mess that up.

She Doesn't Know I Love Her

©

Published by Family Friend Poems October 2008 with permission of the Author.

When did my feelings get so deep?
Why did they take that big, long leap?
Going from friend to crush,
What a rush,

And I don't think she knows.

Since when did her smile make me go weak?
Since when did her tears make mine start to leak?
Why does this happen when I'm always so strong?
When people called me Superman, I guess they were wrong,

And I don't think she knows.

When she talks I can't help but watch her lips,
To notice their shape and curves when they dip.
Wait, why am I looking? I don't even know.
And I can't help but wonder if she even knows.

Her beautiful eyes are nothing like ours.
They're so deep and bright; you'd believe they were stars
They pour forth emotions in raging rivers.
They could make even me believe that Santa always delivers,

And still she has no idea.

Her body is perfection, though she denies it.
It makes my head spin with every glance I give.
She could put any man under her spell,
But she doesn't know how I feel, and I don't think I'll tell.

I love how she looks and who she is
And how she makes me feel like this.
I love how she's beautiful and smart with a heart so strong
And how she lives every day like nothing could go wrong.

Still she hasn't got a clue.

Now school is at an end on the 11th at noon.
I wonder if she cares that I'm moving soon.
We're parting that day after school for many months.
I just wish I could have kissed her just once.

Now that I've said it with my poetic skill,
I don't think she knew, and now she never will.

This poem is beautiful. The skill and words that went into it bring out the emotions. The situation that I'm in is very similar, therefore, making this very relatable. Such a beautiful poem!

This spoke to me on a personal level. This is what I feel at night and what I will feel now and forever. This is truly a work of art, and I very much appreciate it coming into my life, just when I needed it most! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
My upmost admiration,

I wrote a poem like this for a girl my freshman year. It made all my female friends cry, so I showed it to the girl I liked and she kinda brushed it off. Looking back, I shouldn't have wasted my time on her, but she was basically perfect. Now she's seeing someone else and going off to college. Do I regret writing it? No. Do I miss her? Yeah. But there's nothing you can do about it. I have not liked a single girl since her.

Now that, my friend, is what I call loyalty. Because the fact that you haven't liked a single girl since that girl you liked is REAL. I'm sorry that she brushed off your poem, but there are better fish in the sea, or if you wanna stay with her, then make her notice you. I'm pretty sure that she will understand your feelings. Just try it!

I am too young to understand, they say, but I know what I feel is real. You should see I don't just like him. That word is not strong enough. I love him that is the word I need. When he says my name I can barely breathe. When our eyes meet my knees go weak. I love him, he knows I like him. He's known for a while, but we don't really talk. He sits by me in one class. I know we need to talk about this, but my courage has left me here in this place. Can I just walk up and tell him I love you, or is that too hard for me? That way I feel for him will always be.

I'm a girl who has never dated. I'm 15 years, and there's this guy I like. We talk every day. I think I like him. How do I surely know he is the guy for me...how can I get him to notice I like him?

  • Deallan by Deallan

Okay, so what I think you should do is to get him in the same room as you…like in the library or a classroom or walking or at his or your place…just make sure you’re alone. And say, “Okay, I had a crazy thought just now. I was imagining what it would be like if we were not friends but more than friends.” And he’ll say, “How?” And you say, “Like if we were together, together.” And see how it goes. If he says no, then say it was only a wild guess. Best of luck to you.

I just wanted to say thank you for writing a piece like this. I am only 15, but this poem has inspired me to make a positive result come about from a situation that is a picture perfect replica of this one. Your words are simple; they are sweet and they convey deep meaning. I can see that each word has been carefully thought over You have put so much of your own emotion into this, and that is why I appreciate this poem so much more than a lot of others. Thank you.

It hurts so much to love and be rejected but it is far worse to never take that chance and tell them how you feel.

  • Avery by Avery, Ok

Okay.
Number one, this is the sweetest thing EVER.
Number two, if a guy wrote a poem for me, I would marry him. Not even kidding.
Number three, marry me please.
Number four, this is the last thing. This is the best thing ever. I NEED a boy to write something like this for me.

That's all.

The last time I've felt like you was about 6 years ago, and no other girl has ever made my knees weak until I started the university; my eyes came across this little girl, she isn't as hot and fit as her friends but still looks good. She has a killer smile and the cutest laugh.
I've enjoyed the few times we went out, using my friend's friends as excuse to see her. The bad part is that she might know I like her, because in the past weeks she has stopped seeing me and I can feel she's avoiding me. I don't blame her because unfortunately she has a boyfriend. And for the worst my classmates know it. I wish I've never met her because now I can't stop thinking on her.
And it's even harder to express my self in English since it's not my first language.

Your poem is awesome I am going through the exact same thing with a woman I have had a crush on for a long time. Because I am so shy I can't tell her because I don't want to get rejected. I feel that would hurt our friendship. Even though I want to and love poetry. I may have to follow your lead and write a poem because it very possible I will be moving out of the state we go to school in after I graduate.

This was amazing! It made me so sad, you should tell her. Reading this just shows how much you really care, at least send her this poem, maybe she will finally understand.

Look my friend if I were in your shoes now, I'd find any way to tell her your true feelings before someone else grabs her and you will never forgive yourself. Let her know. I still think of my ex girl so much and I truly wish she was here with me today instead of my wife who I am not in love with. Please give your friend a call for what happens if the guy she meets hurts her, give her a call or send a letter with that poem for she will understand how you feel for her. I hope you have told her by now.

This sound like something my best friend would say to me. He moved this summer to Washington State and I am in Kansas. I liked him and he liked me. We both were scared if we said anything our friendship would be hurt. We finally got up the courage to say something, and to our surprise we both felt the same way. The only problem is that we live (While I am at College) 1,141 miles as the crow flies and 1,525 miles driving distance. I know how you feel because I felt like that for so long before and after her left, but after telling him I feel so much happier, even though I miss him so much more.

So I fell for this girl and she came from South Africa little did I know she had someone back home as our feelings started blending and we got strong she told me about the other and I was crushed then the other proposed so they could be together she told me that to so I cried cause well I didn't know what else to do she couldn't decide who she wanted and the thought of losing her made me sick to my stomach. I love hey but I don't think she understand cause if she did I don't think it would be this hard for her to pick one.

This is by far the best poem I have read so far, great job. You should definitely tell her because I found out on the last day of school that this guy liked me and I have had a crush on him for quite some time. Sadly it's too late and now we will never be together.
P.S any girl would be happy to go out with a guy who is able to write such lovely poetry about them!!!!

That was the most amazing poem. Your a good hearted man bro. Wow, I can't seem to come up with any words to think how to describe this. It's so sad yet so uplifting. Made me tear, and I'm a guy! Doesn't mean sh*t when poems like this are written. Great story, written just magnificently, but truly saddening.

Incredible piece of writing! Brings back memories. We always remember the one that we missed. Others come, others go. You know about them whether good or bad but the one that got away feels unfinished - a story without an ending - we never will know - destined to a life of wondering - what if...?

Hey man, read this and a lot like most others I'm also going through the same thing, I've known this girl for 4 years now and she is the only person on this earth I would ever want to be with. Your poem makes me want to write something for her but I'm terrible with words, I wish I had enough balls to just tell her straight up.

I love it! I feel the same way, because I like my best friend. He just doesn't know it or at least I don't think he does. I don't know how I could tell him and still be friends. I told him when we first met but he said he just wanted to be friends and that he was glad we're friends. But that was almost a year ago that he told me that, and I really hope that his feelings changed.

Wow dude. I literally read this and I just want to walk up to her and tell it straight from the heart because that's what she deserves. But she just got out of a relationship and she wants to forget him but she's so in love with him that she can't. But as she was telling the four of us about this she doesn't realize that she's been the girl who brought love into my life with my first kiss and the first and only time I've made love. But she thinks nothing of it and it tears my heart apart because the way she feels about this guy isn't even half as much as I love her and she moved in with him for a good while so I forgot about her but now she's back and everything flooded upon me when we all hung out last night and I'm afraid I'll never be able to confess my love to her no matter how amazing she is because I'm afraid I'm just not that guy but she's that girl. She's 18 now and I'm only 17 so it can't happen till I'm old enough but by that time shell be gone again.

One of the best ways I have ever seen this feeling described. I have the same thing going on, only difference is that I came back and we are still "best friends" even though other people can't tell that there is more to it. Props to you and your poetic skills, if you can, and have not already told this girl how you feel you should. It will be worth it.

I write poetry because its a passion of mine, and this was beyond touching.

I can't relate but I soon will because I am a freshman now and if I were to move I would feel what your feeling. We've grown so close as if TRUE FRIENDS has appeared in front of me. I feel like if I were to ask, then it would mess everything up, because being like literally really close friends is something that I feel like I can't give up. My heart is big for this girl, better believe it too, but I don't want to take any risks.

That's really nice, most lad's would make it sound real cheesy well that's my opinion, but you didn't. I read your poem twice and both times it made me feel, well I cant explain how it made me feel. I'm kinder going through the same thing, but I ended up telling the lad how I felt we drifted apart, getting closer now. if I was you I wouldn't be afraid to tell this girl you like, at least she knows how you felt, cause maybe deep down she feels same but she's also scared to tell you.
