Grandmother Death Poem

Poem Remembering Grandma

I read this out at my Grandma's funeral and know she would have been proud! This is a personal poem I wrote about my feelings for such a special lady whom I will never forget.

I've mourned your loss for quite some time
Because old age and weariness took away your shine
But I will never forget the way you were
And the love and warmth I felt beside you
You were so loving and caring to everyone
No matter what they had said or done
You listened and nodded with a smile
And lifted our spirits every time
You used to say to me I was born for a reason
If I helped you through times of sorrow and loss
And sometimes made you cry with laughter
Then I know that reason is clear
Grandma, I will love you forever
And never forget your warm embrace
Or your gentle, smiling face
Thank you for being you
And for teaching me some of what you knew
I am truly blessed to have known you
