Thank You Poem

I am 3rd year student University of Nairobi in Kenya. Believe me I have never known who my dad is. Despite many challenges my mum has encountered she has played both mother and father roles. She has always dreamed to provide the best for me and my other two sisters. Her love has compelled me to be always by her side to never let her walk alone.

Thank you because
I was privileged to share in the
warmth of your own body,
food and the very air that you breathe

You and I climbed steps together,
ran and walked together,
slept in the same bed and ate the same foods
You and I bonded together.

That is why
I promise you will never walk alone
I will always be by your side
