When I First Saw You

When I first saw you, I knew it was real and that you were going to be such a big deal. Those bright blue eyes, that tiny little face, I just wanted to keep kissing your face. I never knew you could love someone so much; it really makes you feel like you're going to bust.
When I first saw you, I cried tears of joy; I couldn't believe it my own baby boy. You made me glow, you made me smile, I am glad you come around once in a while.
When I first saw you, I never would have guessed, that one day you would have to leave the nest. Now, you must go and start your own life, I am happy to say you are taking a wife.

I was blessed with the most wonderful, loving child who was an absolute pleasure for me to call my son. He was my only child and we had a very special bond which was joyful, comfortable and carefree. I enjoyed my role and felt challenged when he fell in love. I felt the nest was empty and struggled with the transformation of my child to her husband. But he married her and then I knew that my sons heart had love for two.
