Why Do You Act That Way?

I'll never understand why
You do the things you do
I wish I could comprehend
I try, I really do

I sit and I ponder
But nothing makes sense
It's like after your divorce
You just kind of act dense

Why won't you be the mom
I yearn for and deserve
Instead of just basically
Kicking me to the curb?

We talk on occasion
But you never listen
You say you don't have time
So I continue wishing

I don't ask why
Because I have concluded
You and your actions
Just leave me secluded

I'll never understand why
You do the things you do
But you'll always be my mom
And I'll love you through and through.
