21. Mother, Daughter, Sister, And Woman
As mother, I am nurturer.
A guardian, a guide
As mother, I am gentleness
A warmth of selfless pride
As mother, I am nurturer.
A guardian, a guide
As mother, I am gentleness
A warmth of selfless pride

A cherished gift
Your family's love
A gift to me
From God above

My whole family will keep talking deep inside my head
It's hard to pay attention to everything that's said
They're yelling out their criticism and it's not one by one
Or their grumbling disapproval for something I have done
time is lighter than a feather
through your fingers it slips
and after time and time
my jar of love never tips
Grandmas are beams of sunshine built into a hug
That leaves a smile on your face and love within you heart
Grandpas are the wise ole ones that are cuddly as a bear
Who always have a neat new trick and story yet to share
Not a day goes by
that I don't wish you knew how much I love you.
Not a day goes by
that I don't wish better for you.
This is so touching and beautiful. My son who is 28 is also paranoid schizophrenic. :(
I was born in the arms of my own king and queen.
They raised me as they were, in the life they had seen.
My queen guarded and protected me as her queen did before.
This shows me to always respect your parents because one day they will leave and you are going to have to do it on your own. That is what the poem means to me.
Family is a funny thing
People living in harmony
We will experience some pain
A warm welcome
A how do you do
Words of kindness
And comfort too
How does love grow?
Everyone should know!
It's a gift of giving,
Which we hope to keep receiving.
What family means to me is more
Than mere words can convey.
It's been the basis for my life
And how I've faced each day.
The phrase "I'm Sorry" you may agree
Has turned into a social amenity
We say "I'm Sorry" more than Brenda Lee
Which was a hit song for her back in 1960.
That was the best poem I ever heard. Thanks it really touched me.
