  1. 41. A Mother's Pain

My Daughter was molested by my brother. She held this secret inside for years. She recently came out with the truth. I love her so much. I pray and hope every day gets better for her.

    She looked up to you.
    I did to.
I told her you were a good role model.
    Over and over I did.

  2. 42. Yesterday

This poem is about the time I was abused by my older brother. He was controlling and he isolated me so I didn't have any support from the outside world. I felt alone and broken.

Yesterday might've gone down in flame
But I remember the nights spent alone
I remember your shame I called my own
I remember you and your twisted games

I saw a monster, I promise he was real,
A presence haunting with a touch you could feel.
His footsteps echoed like a beast's heavy tread,
A roar of laughter that filled me with dread.

  5. 45. Love Or Obsession

I wrote this poem a little while ago when I was in a weird place mentally. I've struggled with handling my emotions and self blame for a long time. My stepdad sexual abused me from the age of 6 until recently, I'm 27. He has been relentless and refuses to let me go, it was obsession on his part I think. My whole life I've lived in the shadows of what he continued to do to me, never being able to break free as my mother has always stood by him knowing and defending what he was doing. Now I'm free.

  6. 46. Mysteries Of Your Mind

After 14 years I am still haunted by the actions of my father. Nothing will ever erase the damage he has done, but I've always wanted to know why, to understand what makes a person hurt those they are supposed to love, to know whether he ever thought about the life he was ruining.

I wish to delve into the depths of your mind,
Where mischief lurks and secrets unwind.
What drove you to inflict such pain on me?
In the shadows of your thoughts, what did you see?

  7. 47. Poisoned Secrets

I was sexually abused, I did not tell anyone that until 7 years later, although it's no longer a secret anymore, there are a lot of things that I would never dream of saying. I've recently started counselling and have realized there is a lot of weight that comes with those secrets. I've never felt able to voice the details of my abuse and those secrets will forever haunt me.

Trapped in cycles, impossible to win.
Forced into silence, bearing heavy weight,
Burdened by shame, consumed by hate.
