Loss of Father Poem

My dad passed away of cancer this year, and that inspired me to start writing again after a break for a few years. It felt good to share. I actually made it PUBLIC because I wanted to pass along something to anyone who needed to read it. Sometimes you just feel like there is something you should share, and maybe you could help say the words they can't...or just aren't sure how.

To My Daddy, On Your Birthday

Today was the day
So many years ago
You came into this world,
Bringing a special glow.

So full of love
And laughter so loud.
Thinking of you today,
You still make us proud.

Daddy, I know you're watching,
I know your looking down.
Your birthday is today,
And although you're not around,

It doesn't stop our thoughts
And never stops our prayers.
I am sending birthday wishes
To my angel upstairs.
